About the role

The Raspberry Cafe', a beloved local establishment in Tai Tapu, Canterbury, is seeking an experienced and passionate Cafe Manager to lead their talented team. As Cafe Manager, you will be responsible for the overall operations and strategic direction of the cafe, ensuring exceptional customer service and a thriving business. This full-time role is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a strong background in the hospitality industry to make their mark in a dynamic and rewarding environment.

What you'll be doing

Oversee all aspects of cafe operations, including staff management, inventory control, financial management, and compliance with health and safety, and Sales & Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 regulations.

Lead and motivate a team of baristas, and servers to deliver outstanding customer experiences.

Develop and implement strategic plans to drive sales, improve efficiency, and enhance the cafe's reputation within the community.

Manage the cafe's budget, analyse financial data, and make informed decisions to optimise profitability

Foster a positive and collaborative work culture, providing coaching and development opportunities for the team

Hire, train and manage the Front of house team.

Continuously monitor and adapt to industry trends, customer preferences, and market changes to maintain the cafe's competitive edge.

Engage with guests to gather feedback and continuously improve the dining experience.

What we're looking for

Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a management role within the hospitality industry, preferably in a cafe or restaurant setting.

Must have LCQ and Manager Certificate.

Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team

Excellent customer service orientation and a deep understanding of delivering exceptional dining experiences

Proficient in financial management, budgeting, and data analysis to drive business performance

Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive and resourceful approach

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with owners.

Passion for the hospitality industry and a commitment to continuously learning and improving
