Foodstuffs NZ's New World Brookfield is seeking an experienced Butchery 2IC to support the Butchery Manager, lead the team, maintain high presentation standards and deliver exceptional customer service.

This hands-on leadership role involves stepping up in the Manager's absence, driving productivity, stock control, food safety, and department profitability while building a positive, customer-focused team culture.

Qualifications

• Proven butchery experience with supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Passion for quality products and creating an outstanding customer experience.
• The ability to lead by example and support the development of others.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Knowledge of food safety and compliance requirements.
• A proactive approach and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliable, motivated, and customer-focused with a positive attitude.
• A willingness to step into the Manager's role when required.

Responsabilités

• Support the Butchery Manager with the day-to-day operation of the department
• Lead and motivate the team, providing guidance, training, and support
• Oversee department operations in the Manager's absence
• Ensure products are fresh, well presented, and available for customers
• Maintain food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards
• Assist with ordering, stock control, and waste management
• Deliver exceptional customer service and product knowledge
• Contribute to achieving departmental sales, productivity, and profitability targets
