Job summary

Fonterra seeks a Business Intelligence Analyst to join Farm Source Digital, Data & AI, turning data into insights that guide strategic and operational decisions. You will partner with stakeholders across Farm Source to generate evidence, identify opportunities, and shape outcomes.

You will translate business requirements into robust reporting and visualisations, working in a governed data environment and leveraging modern data platforms to drive value.

Qualifications

• 4+ years' experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Performance Reporting or related discipline.
• Strong SQL query skills and experience working with large, complex datasets.
• Experience translating business requirements into reporting and analytics visuals to tell stories through data.
• Proven ability to communicate insights and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience working within governed data environments, including data quality, privacy and security practices.
• Knowledge about dairy farming is advantageous, as is familiarity with Salesforce data.

We're looking for a Business Intelligence Analyst to join our Farm Source Digital, Data & AI team and help turn data into meaningful business outcomes. In this role, you'll partner with stakeholders across Farm Source to generate insights, identify opportunities and provide the evidence that helps shape strategic and operational decisions. Working across areas such as on-farm sustainability, milk supply, relationship management and service, you'll help teams understand what's happening, why it's happening and where to focus next. We're looking for someone who enjoys translating data into actionable insights and influencing decision-making through evidence. As Farm Source continues to evolve its data, analytics and AI capabilities, you'll play an important role in helping build a more insight-driven, data-informed organisation.

You are a curious business minded analyst who enjoys solving problems, identifying trends and turning complex data into clear, actionable insights and visualisations. You know how to ask the right questions, challenge assumptions, and possess the technical skills to implement your identified solutions. You'll be comfortable partnering with stakeholders across the business, balancing technical expertise with strong business engagement. Experience working in complex operational environments, and an interest in emerging analytics and AI capabilities, will help you succeed in this role. Most importantly, you're motivated by using data to create meaningful outcomes and continuously improve the way decisions are made.

You'll bring:

• 4+ years' experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Performance Reporting or a related discipline
• Strong SQL query skills and experience working with large, complex datasets
• Experience translating business requirements into reporting and analytics visualisations, to tell stories through data that supports informed business decision
• Proven ability to communicate insights and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience working within governed data environments, including data quality, privacy and security practices
• Experience working with Microsoft Fabric, Databricks or other modern data platforms would be advantageous.
• Knowledge about dairy farming is advantageous, as is familiarity with Salesforce data
