Mō Te Tūranga - About The Role

As a Business Intelligence Analyst in our Data & Analytics team, you’ll play a key role supporting and contributing to requirements gathering, design, build and implement end-to-end Business Intelligence Solutions.

Our Business Intelligence team deeply understand the power of data to generate quality customer outcomes, manage information and identify trends to accelerate capability and enable sound business decisions.

The role will promote and utilise agile ways of working, including practical application of BI tools in efficient ways. The role will influence initiatives by advocating for best practice, contribute to team objectives and work with the team to present data in efficient, logical and compelling ways.

This role works closely with Scrum and Delivery Leads, Development teams, Chapter Leads, Platform Owners and other stakeholders to ensure our BI deliverables are achieved. The role acts as a technical authority for the team, guiding them on the ‘HOW’ and “WHAT’ of Business Intelligence.

As a BI Analyst, you will:

  • Contribute to and support Elicit requirements, design, develop and deliver end to end BI solutions.
  • Ensure the business is provided with high quality, re-useable and easily maintained data assets.
  • Build collaboration and expertise so that the BI team are seen as a trusted partner.
  • Building Business Intelligence capabilities and technical skills
  • Nurturing a growth mindset and curiosity within our teams
  • Identifying, supporting and implementing continuous improvement initiatives
  • Actively researching industry trends, standards and methods, offering technical insights and direction
  • Ensure all services comply with ANZ Group, Information & Insights strategy, policies, processes and standards and with external regulatory requirements

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Couple of years of experience in developing end-to-end business intelligence solutions
  • Data extraction, manipulation and automation using SAS, SQL or similar

  • Experience with developing actionable insights and recommendations on data
  • Effective communication skills including the ability to translate technical into non-technical for presentation to all stakeholders
  • Extensive experience working within cross-functional, agile or continuous delivery teams
  • A growth mindset and desire to continually learn and share new techniques and ideas
