Business Development Manager (west coast)

SUMMARY: The Business Development Manager (BDM) leverages personal industry relationships, market development skills, CloudWave market development programs, and partner references to create and harvest a pipeline of new CloudWave Managed Cloud Services and Professional Services customers. The BDM builds awareness of each potential customer’s IT strategy, projects, needs, and future mapping to CloudWave solutions, aiming to onboard customers to managed cloud services and foster lasting relationships.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Achieve assigned quota for your territory.
  2. Collaborate with sales & marketing leadership to develop and implement support programs.
  3. Develop prospecting targets with the VP of Sales, using calls, networking, social media, and email; document activities in SFDC.
  4. Manage top-of-funnel leads with marketing resources and qualify leads.
  5. Maintain detailed records of accounts, contacts, opportunities, and activities in SFDC.
  6. Ensure proper documentation and filing of sales engagement documents.
  7. Coordinate with escalation resources for customer support and engagement.
  8. Participate in customer review calls during the initial 18 months, identify opportunities, and execute sales campaigns.
  9. Act as a customer advocate, escalating issues as needed.
  10. Promote marketing activities, events, and customer engagement opportunities.
  11. Share case studies and success stories internally.
  12. Maintain knowledge of the healthcare IT industry and CloudWave solutions.
  13. Assist with escalations related to customer payments when necessary.
  14. Fulfill commitments and escalate challenges to management.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Maintain proficiency with company technology tools and platforms.
  2. Adhere to company ethics and travel policies.
  3. Maintain professional appearance and standards.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Not applicable, but requires strong interpersonal skills for managing resources involved in outreach or referrals.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience demonstrating critical thinking skills.

Experience: 8+ years in sales/account management; healthcare or IT experience preferred; participation in sales development programs beneficial.

Certifications: Relevant sales or technical certifications (AWS, GCP, etc.); ongoing sales training encouraged.

Skills and Abilities: Curiosity about healthcare and cloud tech; ability to communicate proposals clearly; strong time management skills.

TRAVEL REQUIRED:

Up to 50% travel; remote engagement via Teams recommended, with periodic in-person meetings.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Work long hours at a desk using PC, video, and phone.
  • Occasional lifting of equipment.
  • Moderate overnight travel.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Office and remote work capabilities.
  • Extensive use of digital communication tools.
