This is where you come in

We are seeking a driven and strategic Business Development Manager to join our New Zealand team—someone who can speak and write Mandarin fluently. In this highly influential role, you will be instrumental in connecting with our Asian Builder Communities consisting of Developers, Builders, and Authorised Business Distributors (ABDs), as well as expanding opportunities across multicultural markets within New Zealand. Your language skills will allow you to build enduring partnerships that deliver profitable growth and foster deeper engagement with both existing and new business contacts.

You’ll champion our brands, vision, and products across the builder channel, converting opportunities into wins and cultivating long-term loyalty. This role blends strategic planning, business development, and operational leadership, giving you the scope to influence market direction and deliver measurable results within the Asian Builder Market.

What you’ll be doing
  • Actively prospect, identify, and secure new business opportunities within the builder and developer sectors, leveraging your Mandarin language skills to grow relationships and bridge cultural connections.
  • Lead the planning and delivery of Fisher & Paykel’s builder strategy, aligning with global priorities and growth aspirations.
  • Identify and develop integrated demand generation strategies that drive commercial sales and increase market share, with a special focus on the Asian Builder community.
  • Partner strategically with Developers, Builders and ABDs to create seamless, brand-aligned experiences that convert quotes into successful placements.
  • Attend industry events, cold call and network to identify new opportunities, expanding our reach.
  • Drive disciplined execution of sales plans, reporting regularly to both local and global market groups.
  • Advocate internally for your customers, ensuring highly effective cross-functional collaboration that delivers on expectations.
  • Champion F&P and Haier’s presence in the market, consistently expanding our footprint amongst our diverse builder audiences.
  • Work closely with the General Manager – Builder and peers to deliver on ambitious growth targets.
Who you are
  • You are a proven commercial sales professional with at least three years’ experience and a track record of success. You excel at prospecting and transforming leads into enduring, profitable partnerships—especially within the Asian networks.
  • Your strong business planning skills, ability to prioritize and execute, and confidence to influence at all levels set you apart. With a commercial mindset, bilingual proficiency, and sharp market awareness, you identify opportunities and deliver profitable growth.
