Role

Right now, we’re looking for a Schemes Business Development Manager to join our Digital Commercial team and help grow our schemes business through smart solutions and strong relationships.

This is a role that blends relationship building, commercial thinking and underwriting know-how. Day to day, you’ll:

  • Build and grow key scheme broker partnerships, driving portfolio growth while delivering a standout customer experience
  • Act as the go-to contact for broker partners, supporting them to meet SLAs and compliance requirements
  • Identify opportunities to improve how we work, and lead or support projects to make it happen
  • Prepare and deliver insightful reporting, using data to guide decision-making
  • Underwrite commercial risks and referrals as needed, ensuring quality and timeliness
  • Spot new business opportunities, develop solutions, and drive growth across the marketplace
Qualifications and experience
  • At least 8 years’ experience in general insurance, with strong underwriting expertise (schemes experience is a big plus)
  • A proven track record of developing business and building trusted broker relationships
  • A clear understanding of the regulatory and legislative landscape
  • Strong commercial instincts, analytical skills, and comfort with data and systems
  • A collaborative, proactive mindset and a passion for helping others succeed
  • ANZIIF qualifications (Cert/Dip) will be highly regarded, as will your drive to grow and share your knowledge.
