My Timaru client is seeking an experienced and strategic Director or Shareholder to join their dynamic team. As a fellow Director, you will play a crucial role in shaping and executing the financial strategy of the firm, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and driving excellence in financial reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company's objectives.
- Provide insightful financial recommendations to support decision-making at the executive level.
- Conduct regular financial analysis to identify areas for improvement and growth.
- Financial Reporting and Compliance:
- Oversee the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial reports.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, regulations, and tax laws.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and mentor a high-performing finance and accounting team.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
- Drive collaboration and effective communication within the finance department and across the organization.
- Risk Management:
- Identify and mitigate financial risks to safeguard the company's financial health.
- Implement robust internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information.
- Client Engagement:
- Collaborate with clients to understand their financial needs and provide strategic financial advice.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to enhance the firm's reputation and client satisfaction.
Qualifications:- Bachelor's Degree in accounting
- Professional accounting qualifications (CA or CPA)
- Proven experience in a senior financial leadership role, preferably within a professional services firm.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and industry best practices.
- Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
