Job summary

Auckland Transport is seeking a Bus & Ferry Asset Services Manager to lead the Network Planning & Performance team and oversee a diverse portfolio of public transport assets in Auckland.

You will drive asset performance, reliability and sustainability, partnering with operators and stakeholders to support future service requirements and asset transitions, while coaching a high-performing team.

Qualifications

• Significant experience managing transport assets, facilities, fleets or other operational infrastructure.
• Strong leadership experience within a complex operational and stakeholder environment.
• Experience delivering asset upgrades, transitions or major improvement initiatives.
• Experience overseeing asset assurance and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team while fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.
• Lead the operational management of bus and ferry-related assets, as part of a diverse transport portfolio.
• Support the successful delivery of fleet and asset transition programmes.
• Drive initiatives that improve asset performance, reliability and operational readiness.
• Work collaboratively with Auckland Council to share asset condition information and plan renewal activity.
• Partner with operators, suppliers and stakeholders to ensure assets meet service needs.
• Support sustainability and decarbonisation initiatives across transport assets and facilities.
• Oversee asset-related risk, performance and continuous improvement activities.
