Job summary

Kāpiti Coast District Council is hiring a Building Officer to deliver professional advice, assess consent applications, and perform inspections ensuring safe and compliant development on the Kāpiti Coast.

Qualifications

• Experience in building industry, building environment, or regulatory field.
• Current NZ driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional and technical advice to customers and stakeholders.
• Assess building consent applications and supporting documentation.
• Undertake building inspections to ensure compliance with approved consents.
• Support the administration and delivery of functions under the Building Act 2004.
• Contribute to maintaining Council's accreditation as a Building Consent Authority (BCA).
• Help ensure high-quality customer service while meeting statutory timeframes.
