Job summary

Key responsibilities:

• Carry out general building and carpentry work to a high standard.

• Set out and interpret plans and specifications.

• Assist with coordinating day-to-day work on site.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe worksite.
• Follow building codes, health and safety requirements and company procedures.
• Use and maintain tools, machinery and equipment correctly.
• Identify and communicate any issues or problems that may affect the project.

Requirements:

• 3 years relevant experience required or 3rd Year Building and Construction Apprentice.
• Good understanding of residential building and carpentry practices.
• Ability to read and understand architectural and engineering drawings.
• Ability to work unsupervised and manage tasks efficiently.
• Ability to take initiative and lead other workers when required.
• Good communication and people skills, including the ability to engage and work effectively with subcontractors.
• Full New Zealand driver’s licence.
• Reliable vehicle or transport suitable for getting to and from jobs.
• Able to safely drive, manoeuvre and reverse a trailer.
• Own basic hand and power tools.
• Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Good attitude and willingness to learn and develop further within the trade.

This is a full time role guaranteeing 30 hours of work per week.

Pay rate is based on experience and ranges between $30 and $40 hours per week.

Pay: $30.00 – $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 30.0 per week
