Job summary

SmartGrass NZ seeks a one-person content studio to plan, shoot, edit, write and post content that showcases our premium artificial grass and sports courts across New Zealand. You’ll own reels, photos and stories, balancing on-site shoots with on-site HQ prep and post-production.

You’ll work with the marketing team, develop a portfolio across video, photography and copy, and contribute to ads and website content. A driver’s license and NZ work rights are required.

Qualifications

• Ability to plan and execute video shoots for Reels, TikTok and YouTube.
• Proficiency in photography for before-and-after fixtures and product showcases.
• Experience writing captions, articles and press-ready materials.

Responsibilities

• Create scroll-stopping Reels, TikToks and YouTube videos.
• Do project photography including before-and-afters.
• Record customer and team stories.
• Write posts for LinkedIn, website and press releases.

A tired backyard turned into the family's favourite spot. A bare school field turned into an all-weather court. A dog's first zoomies on their brand-new lawn.

We create moments like that every week, right across the country. Most of them end up as a quick photo on one of our installers’ iPhone 11s.

We’re looking for the creative who’ll bring our content into 2026.

SmartGrass is New Zealand’s premium artificial grass and sports court specialist, with teams in Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland, and big plans beyond that. We’re the best at what we do, and we need you to create content that shows it.

The gig.

You’re the one-person content studio behind the growing SmartGrass brand. Idea, shoot, edit, write, post.

• Scroll-stopping Reels, TikToks and YouTube videos
• Project and product photography, including before-and-afters that do the selling for us
• Recording customer and team stories
• LinkedIn posts, website articles and press releases with personality
• Training videos for our team

About 30% of your week is on site, chasing golden hour and key projects. The rest is at our Christchurch HQ in prep and post-production. You'll have in-house and outside specialists to call on when a project needs extra hands.

You’ll be building something. This is the first role in our content team, so you'll help shape how it runs and what kit it needs. You'll work alongside the business owners at head office and see every side of SmartGrass, from sales and installs to recruitment.

What We’re Looking For.

• AI tools as your secret weapon
• A modern portfolio across video, photography and writing that you’re proud of
• A solid grasp of marketing principles and what makes content successful
• The ability to shoot and edit your own work (DaVinci Resolve preferred)
• Captions that land as well as your Reels do
• Spot the story before anyone asks you to
• The ability to get a homeowner, principal or installer looking natural on camera

Bonus points for graphic design, website editing, or running Google and Meta ads. Short on years but big on talent? We’d love to see your portfolio.

• $60,000–$80,000, depending on skills and experience

• Occasional travel to projects around New Zealand and our Wellington and Auckland teams

A full New Zealand driver’s licence and the right to work in New Zealand are required.
