Job summary

Bioeconomy Science Institute invites students to join the Process Optimisation team in Rotorua, NZ for a Summer Student Intern role in biomass processing and biomanufacturing. You will work alongside experienced scientists, assisting with experiments and data collection to understand how processing conditions affect material properties and biobased product development.

Qualifications

Currently studying towards a tertiary qualification in engineering or related discipline.
Interest in applied scientific research and hands-on lab experience.
Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
Excellent communication and a commitment to safety in a research environment.

Responsibilities

Design and conduct laboratory-based biomass processing experiments.
Collect, analyse, and interpret experimental data on biomass properties and process performance.
Interpret and summarise results and contribute to project reporting and presentations.
Contribute to literature reviews, experimental planning and development of findings.
Learn from experienced technicians, scientists and engineers in a collaborative environment.
