Job summary

Alignerr is seeking a PhD-level biochemist to act as an AI Data Trainer. You will craft challenging biochemistry scenarios, write rigorous solutions, and audit AI outputs to ensure scientific accuracy.

This fully remote, hourly contract role offers flexible scheduling and involvement with top AI research teams. Ideal candidates hold a PhD (or near completion) in Biochemistry or Molecular Biology, with strong knowledge in structural biology, enzymology, metabolism, or bioinformatics.

Qualifications

• PhD-level or near-completion in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related field.
• Strong domain knowledge in at least one area such as structural biology, enzymology, cellular metabolism, or bioinformatics.
• Excellent scientific writing and ability to explain complex biology concepts clearly.

Responsibilities

• Design advanced biochemistry scenarios across domains like nucleic acids, proteomics, and drug-target interactions.
• Author gold-standard, step-by-step solutions for high-level scientific accuracy.
• Audit AI outputs for biochemical pathways, molecular structures, and reasoning accuracy.
• Identify and report errors in AI reasoning with structured feedback to improve life science tasks.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role where you'll challenge and refine advanced AI language models on complex topics like protein folding, metabolic flux analysis, enzyme kinetics, and molecular genetics. Your scientific instincts will directly shape how AI reasons through life science problems.

What You'll Do

• Design Challenging Problems — Craft advanced biochemistry scenarios across domains like nucleic acid chemistry, proteomics, and drug-target interactions to stress-test AI reasoning.
• Author Gold-Standard Solutions — Write rigorous, step-by-step technical responses that serve as benchmarks for high-level scientific accuracy.
• Audit AI Outputs — Evaluate AI-generated biochemical pathways, molecular structures, and mathematical reasoning for scientific correctness and adherence to established standards.
• Sharpen AI Reasoning — Identify logical errors such as incorrect stoichiometry or misapplied stereochemistry, and provide structured feedback that improves how AI models think through life science tasks.
  
  

Who You Are

• PhD-level expertise — Completed or near-completion PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a closely related field.
• Strong domain knowledge — Deep familiarity with at least one of: structural biology, enzymology, cellular metabolism, or bioinformatics.
• Clear scientific communicator — Able to explain complex biological and chemical concepts with precision and clarity in writing.
• Detail-oriented — High degree of accuracy when reviewing chemical equations, molecular diagrams, and experimental protocols.
• No AI experience required — We'll onboard you on everything you need to know.

• Experience with data annotation, evaluation systems, or quality assurance workflows
