About The Role
Your deep expertise in biochemistry is exactly what the next generation of AI needs. At Alignerr, we partner with the world's leading AI research labs to train and refine cutting-edge scientific models — and we're looking for PhD-level Biochemists to help us get it right.
Biochemist – AI Data Trainer
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role where your knowledge of protein folding, metabolic flux, enzyme kinetics, and molecular genetics directly shapes how AI reasons about life science. No prior AI experience required — your scientific depth is what matters.
- Organization: Alignerr
- Type: Hourly Contract
- Location: Remote
- Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
What You'll Do
- Design Advanced Problems: Construct challenging biochemistry problems across domains like nucleic acid chemistry, proteomics, structural biology, and drug-target interactions to stress-test AI performance.
- Create Ground-Truth Solutions: Author rigorous, step-by-step technical responses that serve as benchmarks for high-level scientific reasoning in AI systems.
- Audit AI Outputs: Evaluate AI-generated biochemical pathways, molecular structures, and mathematical proofs for scientific accuracy, safety, and correctness.
- Refine AI Reasoning: Identify logical errors — such as incorrect stoichiometry, flawed stereochemistry, or misapplied kinetic models — and provide structured feedback to improve how the AI thinks through life science problems.
Who You Are
- Advanced Degree: PhD (completed or in final stages) in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a closely related field.
- Domain Expertise: Strong foundational knowledge in one or more areas such as structural biology, enzymology, cellular metabolism, bioinformatics, or pharmacology.
- Clear Scientific Communicator: Able to explain complex biological and chemical concepts precisely and concisely in written form.
- Detail-Oriented: High precision when working with chemical equations, molecular diagrams, and experimental protocols.
- No prior AI experience required.
Nice to Have
- Experience with data annotation, quality evaluation, or scientific peer review.
- Familiarity with computational biochemistry tools such as PyMOL, AlphaFold, or BLAST.
- Background in bioinformatics or computational biology.
