At Vector, we're delivering the infrastructure, technology and services that will support a smarter, more connected and increasingly electrified Auckland.
Our Vector31 strategy sets a clear direction for the future. As we continue to evolve the way we serve customers, manage our network and enable business performance, Digital & Data plays a critical role in connecting strategy, technology and delivery.
Within Digital & Data, we're building a new multidisciplinary Business Readiness team focused on one shared outcome: making sure the business is ready, confident and equipped to turn change into results.
Our team brings together skills in change, benefits, learning and development, organisational design and business analysis. We work together from planning through delivery to understand what we're delivering and whether the business is ready to use it, sustain it and achieve the intended benefits.
And we're building this capability as we go.
That's where you come in.
The opportunityWe're looking for a Benefits Analyst, but we're not necessarily looking for someone whose current job title says 'Benefits Analyst'.
This is a new role at Vector and a chance to help shape what great benefits and value realisation looks like here. You'll work alongside business owners and delivery and readiness colleagues to turn intended outcomes into clear, measurable benefits, and then build the evidence that tells us whether they're actually being realised.
The role has a strong focus on defining benefits and measures, establishing ownership and baselines, tracking value, providing evidence-based insight, and connecting benefits with adoption and business readiness.
But this isn't simply a measurement and reporting role. We want you to help build relationships and understand how benefits realisation is an organisational capability.
That means coaching and supporting business owners to confidently own their benefits, challenging assumptions constructively, connecting delivery to adoption and outcomes, and helping us develop the standards and ways of working that will make benefits thinking part of how we operate.
We'll also invest in you. We'll work with you to explore the right mix of on-the-job learning, coaching and formal development to help you develop the skills you need.
We're more interested in your underlying capability than an exact title match. You might come from benefits, business analysis, change, finance, portfolio analysis, performance, transformation or project delivery.
What matters is that you can:
Experience developing benefits plans, business cases, value measures or outcome frameworks would be useful, as would experience working across projects, programmes, portfolios or business change.
But curiosity, critical thinking and the ability to learn matter just as much to us.
A little ambiguity doesn't scare youWe're building something new.
Not every template has been written. Not every standard has been established. Sometimes we'll experiment, learn and adjust.
If you enjoy figuring things out when not everything is mapped out, you'll fit right in.
You'll have coaching and development around you, alongside teammates with different professional disciplines and perspectives.
Bring what you know. Be ready to learn. Teach us something too.Different skills. Different perspectives. Better ways forward, together.
This is a chance to join a new team at the beginning and help shape how Business Readiness works at Vector.
You'll work in a genuinely multidisciplinary environment, with opportunities to stretch beyond your core discipline, learn from others and develop your capability through coaching and hands-on experience.
We're serious about outcomes and evidence, but equally serious about how we achieve them.
We want people who are curious enough to ask why, confident enough to ask 'how do we know?', and collaborative enough to say 'let's work it out together'.
You'll also have access to Vector's wider employee benefits, including flexible ways of working, wellbeing grants and support, subidised travel benefits and a range of learning and development opportunities.
Vector also supports one professional subscription or membership per employee, helping you stay connected to your practice and continue growing your network and skills.
We know that some people may hesitate to apply if they don’t meet every single requirement. If this role excites you, we encourage you to apply anyway - your skills, enthusiasm, and unique perspective could be just what we’re looking for.
Vector values diversity in all its forms and welcomes people of all backgrounds, experiences, identities and abilities to be part of our team.
