Job summary

BDO Auckland is seeking a BAS Accountant to support clients in achieving sustainable growth by identifying issues, developing practical solutions, and delivering high-quality financial and advisory services.

You will gain experience across external reporting, management accounting and tax, while building trusted client relationships and working with Managers, Associates and Partners.

You must be currently in New Zealand and have the right to work permanently to apply.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years’ experience in Business Advisory or a similar accounting role.
• Strong attention to detail with good organisational skills.
• Developing analytical and problem-solving capability.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements and apply relevant accounting standards
• Support external reporting, including workpapers, job planning, and timelines
• Produce management reports, reconciliations, budgets and cash flows
• Prepare tax compliance work (income tax, GST, PAYE, FBT) and assist with planning
• Identify client issues and contribute to practical business and financial solutions
• Assist with trust administration, Companies Office tasks, and use of accounting systems (AO, Xero, MYOB)
