Job summary

WHEATZ BAKERY LIMITED is seeking an experienced Bakery Manufacturing Manager to lead our production operation across shifts in Auckland. The role drives production strategy, budget, quality and staffing outcomes for wholesale and our own bakery outlets.

You will own labour, ingredients and wastage costs, oversee equipment maintenance and food safety standards, and ensure H&S compliance while directing all bakery staff and rostering across shifts. Immediate start available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree major in Food Technology, Food Science, Manufacturing or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant bakery/food production experience.
• Level 4 or higher qualification in food production/bakery trades preferred.
• Experience managing a full bakery or multi-shift production team with staff performance and food safety.
• NZ work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determine and implement production strategy and schedules across all shifts.
• Own the production budget including labour, ingredients and wastage.
• Oversee maintenance, capital purchases and quality/food safety standards.
• Ensure H&S compliance and oversee safe operation of facility.
• Lead bakers and production staff, rostering and performance management.
• Collaborate with marketing and sales on forecasts and launches.
• Report to Director on performance and growth opportunities.
