Job summary

Pak’nSave Kilbirnie is seeking a Bakery Assistant to join a fast paced bakery team in Wellington. You will support the department by ensuring products are packed and ready to be displayed, with an immediate start available.

Hours are Friday 5am–1:30pm and Sunday 5am–1:30pm, totaling 25.5 hours per week. A competitive pay rate and a great team environment are offered within a large store network across New Zealand.

Qualifications

• Physically fit and able to fulfil the requirements of the role.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
• Good basic maths skills.
• Bakery, food retail, fresh food and/or customer service experience.

Responsibilities

• Make fresh cream products and finish icing/decorating cakes.
• Complete temperature checks on hot and chilled products.
• Take customer orders and serve customers; handle inquiries.
• Display products so items on special are clearly visible.
• Stock bakery cases and maintain merchandising standards.

Job description

Pak’nSave Kilbirnie is searching for a Bakery Assistant to join a fast paced and dedicated Bakery team, with a large range produced on-site there is no shortage of work and opportunity to grow within the role and department, the main focus of the role is to support the Bakery department by ensuring products are packed and ready to be displayed.

Immediate Start Available!

You willbe competent in the following tasks:

• Making fresh cream products and finishing off (icing and decorating)cake products
• Completing temperature checks on both hot and chilled products
• Taking customer orders and serving customers appropriately. Handling allother customer enquiries appropriately.
• Displaying product so items on special are clearly visible.
• Ensuring the bakery cases are appropriately stocked and relevantmerchandising standards are maintained at all times.
• Packaging and pricing baked breads, rolls, cakes, loaves, biscuits etc.
• Packing cakes and cutting cakes slices ready for packaging
• Rotating stock and reducing to clear if required.
• Cleaning the prover, ovens and chiller.
• Other tasks that may be required across the store.
