Job summary

Contact Energy is hiring a Cloud Engineer to build and evolve cloud platforms using Infrastructure as Code. You’ll work within a squad to deliver infrastructure, automation, networking and security capabilities across customer experiences and renewable energy initiatives.

You’ll join a team that values curiosity, collaboration and growth, with ownership of your development and strong leadership support. Flexible location in New Zealand with hybrid work options.

Qualifications

• Experience with a public cloud platform such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.
• Understanding of cloud infrastructure, networking, security and IaC principles.
• Strong problem-solving capability and curiosity for new technology.
• Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Confidence working independently while also contributing within a team.
• AWS experience and exposure to AWS CDK.

Responsibilities

• Partner with engineers, product owners, delivery leads and other tech specialists to deliver meaningful outcomes.
• Evolve and support cloud infrastructure, networking and security capabilities.
• Contribute to infrastructure-as-code and automation practices.
• Work in a modern cloud environment that encourages learning and experimentation.
• Influence technical conversations and squad planning with curiosity and collaboration.
• Build capability for the future while supporting renewable energy growth.
