Job summary

The Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand is hiring an Aviation Security Officer in Dunedin. The role is part-time and involves screening, patrolling, and monitoring access to secure areas to keep New Zealand aviation safe.

Successful candidates will receive comprehensive, fully paid training, culminating in a nationally recognised NZQA Level 4 qualification. Training runs from 8 March 2027 to 7 May 2027, with final weeks in Christchurch.

Qualifications

• Willing to work in a fast-paced security environment.
• Ability to follow procedures and maintain focus during shifts.
• Be available for a roastered pattern including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Screening passengers and baggage using security equipment.
• Conducting mobile, foot, and static patrols around the airport.
• Monitoring access to secure areas and verifying credentials.
• Identifying and responding to potential security breaches.
• Supporting safe airport operations through observation and rapid response.
• Collaborating with colleagues and airport stakeholders to resolve issues.
