Qualifications
- Current nursing registration with the New Zealand Nursing Council.
- Annual Practising Certificate current.
- Dialysis training completion or willingness to undergo training (6-week program on unit).
- Strong clinical skills including assessment, medication administration, and dialysis-related procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patients, families, and care teams.
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking for complex patient needs.
- Teamwork and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrate compassion and empathy in caring for patients with complex needs.
Responsibilities
- Review patient charts and prepare dialysis machines.
- Assess patient observations and monitor dialysis tolerance.
- Administer dialysis treatment and manage complications.
- Provide education to patients and families on dialysis and self-care.
- Troubleshoot dialysis-related issues and collaborate with the team.
- Work independently in satellite settings and support continuous patient care.
