Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Discuss client needs, analyze skin characteristics and advise on skincare and makeup.

About the Role

We are looking for Full‑Time Beauty Therapists / Nail Technicians to join our busy and dynamic team in Dunedin. You should be confident working on your own to deliver beauty and nail treatments to a high standard, while also contributing as part of a friendly team. The business is open seven days a week (Monday to Sunday), so you must be available to work rostered shifts, including weekends. This is a full‑time position with a minimum of 30 guaranteed hours per week (up to 40 hours per week). We offer a competitive hourly rate of $24.00 to $31.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

• Discuss client needs, analysing skin characteristics and advising on suitable skin care, treatments and the application of make‑up
• Applying general cosmetic and corrective make‑up
• Performing manicures and pedicures, including decorative nail art, application of artificial nails, nail repair, and other specialised hand and foot treatments
• Performing facial and body treatments such as massages
• Treating unwanted hair through waxing, bleaching, tinting, depilation and electrolysis
• Evaluating beauty therapy processes and products
• Receiving bookings, arranging appointments and maintaining client records
• Providing advice on, and selling, cosmetic and nail care products
• Maintaining clean, safe and hygienic work stations, tools and equipment in line with health and safety requirements

Skills and Experience Required

• Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience as a Beauty Therapist or Nail Technician, OR a relevant New Zealand Level 2 (or higher) qualification, or an equivalent overseas qualification
• Practical skills in beauty and nail treatments, including manicures, pedicures and facial treatments
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly, professional manner
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Hard‑working, reliable and willing to learn
• Availability to work rostered shifts across Monday to Sunday, including weekends

Desirable

• Experience with nail enhancements (acrylic, gel and nail art) would be an advantage
