Qualifications

  • 1 year experience as automotive electrician and fitter.
  • Experience on heavy vehicles, trucks, trailers, or commercial vehicles preferred.
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults in heavy vehicles, trucks, and trailers.
  • Install and maintain vehicle wiring systems, lighting, beacons, cameras, sensors, and electronic equipment.
  • Fit and service battery systems, charging systems, alternators, and starter motors.
  • Install GPS tracking, telematics, and safety systems.
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical specifications.
  • Assist with custom truck builds and specialised transport equipment projects.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance.
  • Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and complies with health and safety requirements.

Dream Booster Engineering is a fast-growing New Zealand-owned engineering company specialising in custom truck body building, heavy transport engineering, truck repairs, maintenance, and fabrication solutions. Based in Hamilton, we design, build, and maintain a wide range of heavy vehicles and transport equipment for customers throughout New Zealand.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Automotive Electrician to join our growing team in Hamilton. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a variety of heavy vehicles, custom truck builds, trailers, and transport equipment within a supportive and professional environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults in heavy vehicles, trucks, and trailers.
  • Install and maintain vehicle wiring systems, lighting, beacons, cameras, sensors, and electronic equipment.
