Job summary

Oji FibreSolutions in Auckland is seeking an Automation/Electrical Engineer to plan and design automation solutions for our Paper Bag manufacturing process. You will identify improvements to reduce downtime and boost throughput while maintaining safety and quality standards.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in manufacturing automation, hands-on PLC experience with Allen Bradley, Siemens and Omron, and a degree in Electrical Engineering.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years+ experience in Automation/Electrical Engineering in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with Allen Bradley, Siemens and Omron PLCs, Manufacturing computer-based systems and Kawasaki robots.
• Experience in multiple drives including Siemens and Omron.
• Project management experience with emphasis on continuous improvement.
• Self-motivated and driven.
• Tertiary Qualifications are essential (Degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred).
• High computer literacy (MS Suite, databases).
• Electrical experience preferred.
• Functional Safety experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement electrical engineering/automation solutions to improve product quality, reduce machine downtime and improve machine speed.
• Implement and support manufacturing computer systems used for the capture and reporting of manufacturing metrics.
• Provide support for the existing electrical engineering equipment used on site, interfacing with suppliers for on-site technical support.
• Provide engineering knowledge and support to the maintenance team.

Oji FibreSolutions is New Zealand's leading manufacturer of pulp, paper and suppliers ofpackaging solutions to a wide range of industries throughout the country.Our Paper Bag business based in Penrose, Auckland designs and producesmulti-wall bags for the Dairy, Cement, Flour and Sugar industries throughoutthe country and into offshore markets.

Reportingto the Engineering Manager, this role will plan and design automation solutionsfor Oji Fibre Solutions manufacturing process at our Paper Bag site. Youwill be responsible for identifying and implementing improvements, regardingprocess and automation ensuring the efficient and uninterrupted operation ofthe manufacturing equipment and process. This challenging role offersplenty of opportunities to make a real impact and requires strong communicationskills in addition to your technical skills.
