Job summary

Smith&Smith in Palmerston North is seeking an Autoglass Technician for a 30‑hour per week role. The position offers full on‑the‑job training towards the National Certificate in Automotive Reglazing (Level 3) NZQF and opportunities for overseas assignments within the Belron group.

You’ll repair, replace, and recalibrate vehicle glass, advise customers, upsell services, and work with top‑quality equipment. Training and career development are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Motivated individuals with a passion for hands-on work and a genuine interest in developing technical skills.
• No prior Autoglass repair experience required; on‑the‑job training provided.
• Excellent English communication and ability to upsell value‑added products/services.
• Able to repetitively lift items up to 25 kg.
• Clean driver’s license (restricted or full) required.
• Must have unrestricted rights to work in New Zealand.
• Willing to complete a drug and alcohol pre-employment test.

Responsibilities

• Repair, replace, and recalibrate vehicle glass using industry tools and equipment.
• Provide expert advice to customers and upsell value-added products/services.
• Be the face of our service, delivering exceptional customer experiences.
