Auditor (Senior)

Employment type: Permanent Full Time

Reporting to: Assistant Managers, Managers, Associates and Directors

Service Line: Audit

Location: Auckland/Tauranga, NZ

Review date: January 2023

Position Purpose

Generate revenue by conducting assurance and audit activities in an accurate, timely manner following set processes and procedures. In some instances, this role maybe required to allocate, supervise, review and coach junior staff to ensure quality of assurance work undertaken is to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct full statutory audits for companies in compliance with the Companies Act.
  • Conduct reviews in accordance with the Institute of Chartered Accountants review guidelines.
  • Conduct due diligence engagement on behalf of a purchaser or vendor of a business.
  • Conduct limited audit of agreed financial information, procedures and processes.
  • Conduct audits for special purposes, in accordance with agreements or particular legislation. For example, royalty audits, turnover certificates, cost claims, Real Estate Agents, expenditure reports).
  • Conduct internal audit assists management and directors to fulfil their governance obligation.
  • Meet deliverables promised to clients
  • Allocate work amongst team based on skills, development needs and workload
  • Supervise, review and sign off work
  • Provide coaching and support to team members
  • Arrange or conduct training sessions on topics of interest and relevance to the team
  • Timesheets completed daily
  • Fees agreed as with Director
  • Understand and keep up to date with changes to company processes, policies and procedures

  • Able to effectively meet deadlines, to enable others to meet deadlines
Education and Work Experience
  • Degree in Business majoring in accounting, NZICA requirements meet.
  • Full CA membership or equivalent
  • Minimum of three to four years practical assurance and audit experience in an organisation that specialises in Assurance and Audit (4 - 5 years ideally)
  • Proficient with Microsoft office and willing to increase software/technology capability
