We are looking for an Associate Civil Engineer with specialist Stormwater skills to join our dedicated and passionate Development Infrastructure team based in our brand new Head office in Wynyard Quarter, Auckland. We are a team of over 50 civil engineers, project managers, and construction management professionals working across transformative infrastructure projects in Aotearoa, Australia, and the Pacific. Our projects span urban redevelopment, land development, roading, industrial, water, power, ports, airports, and rail. The variety of projects and geographies offers endless opportunities for personal and professional growth. We seek to add key team members to support ongoing delivery and growth.

Responsibilities

1. Lead and be involved in client relationship management, project delivery, proposal preparation, planning, and financial management.
2. Work directly with clients and project partners, providing specialist technical stormwater design advice across various civil and multidisciplinary projects.
3. Provide technical leadership, oversight, training, mentoring, and guidance to junior staff.
4. Network and develop relationships with clients, industry partners, and the wider business at Beca.

About you

Your passion, design, and problem-solving mindset will be complemented by a desire to work on meaningful projects. You will:

1. Be a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng or equivalent) with a strong track record in stormwater design and planning within multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects.
2. Have experience leading Stormwater discipline roles, managing client and regulatory relationships.
3. Possess a broad civil engineering background with specialist skills in stormwater engineering design and analysis, familiar with NZ standards and frameworks.
4. Have experience with catchment planning and specialist assessments for Environmental Effects.
5. Be proficient with civil design and modelling software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Open Roads Designer, or 12D; knowledge of hydrological and flood modelling packages is advantageous.
6. Bring a proactive, collaborative attitude and enjoy working in teams.
7. Be committed to personal development and supporting junior team members; previous management experience is beneficial.
8. Be a self-starter, motivated to deliver excellent solutions.
