Overview

An experienced Property Lawyer is sought to join a Tauranga-based legal practice renowned for a supportive culture and work-life balance. This full-time role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of commercial and property matters, including business sales and acquisitions, property investment, development, leasing, and conveyancing. For the right candidate, there is a clear progression pathway to partnership.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert legal advice on a wide variety of commercial transactions including business sales, acquisitions, and structuring tailored solutions for clients’ needs.
• Manage complex property investment and development projects from inception through completion, ensuring all legal requirements are met efficiently.
• Oversee commercial leasing matters by drafting, reviewing, and negotiating lease agreements for both landlords and tenants across multiple sectors.
• Handle residential and commercial conveyancing processes with meticulous attention to detail, guiding clients through every stage of their property journey.
• Support junior staff members through mentoring or informal guidance as required, fostering a nurturing environment for professional growth.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 years’ PQE in commercial law or property law within New Zealand or a comparable jurisdiction.
• Demonstrated proficiency in handling business sales, acquisitions, property investment projects, development matters, leasing transactions, and conveyancing processes.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills that enable you to explain complex legal concepts clearly to clients from diverse backgrounds.
• A proactive approach combined with forward-thinking problem-solving abilities that allow you to anticipate client needs and deliver effective outcomes.
