Deloitte New Zealand is seeking an experienced leader to drive governance, risk and internal audit engagements for large organisations. You will advise senior client stakeholders, deliver high-impact outcomes, and promote continuous improvement across assurance frameworks.

You will lead teams, shape strategies, and contribute to Deloitte's market profile through thought leadership and cross-offering collaboration. This role is Wellington-based and contract-oriented, with potential extensions.

Qualifikationen

• Approximately 8-12+ years' experience in governance, risk, controls assurance, internal audit, advisory, consulting, or related professional services environments.
• Demonstrated experience leading complex client engagements and managing senior stakeholder relationships.
• Strong knowledge of governance, risk management, internal control frameworks, regulatory compliance, and assurance methodologies.
• Experience designing and delivering business process improvement, operational risk, controls transformation, or assurance programmes.

Client Leadership & Delivery

Lead and oversee complex controls assurance, governance, risk advisory and internal audit engagements for medium and large organisations.

Act as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, providing strategic insights that support informed decision-making.

Deliver high-quality, commercially focused outcomes that address client challenges while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

Provide thought leadership across governance, risk, compliance, controls transformation, operational resilience, and assurance frameworks.

Ensure engagements are delivered efficiently, meeting quality, budget, and risk management requirements.

Practice Growth & Business Development

Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.

Identify and pursue opportunities to expand client engagements and support practice growth.

Contribute to proposal development, presentations, market initiatives, and business development activities.

Support the advancement of Deloitte's market profile through industry participation, thought leadership, and networking activities.

Collaborate across Deloitte's wider service offerings to deliver integrated solutions to clients.

Leadership & People Development

Lead, coach, and develop Managers, Senior Consultants, and Consultants to support successful engagement delivery.

Create an inclusive, high-performing team environment that encourages innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.

Support workforce planning, engagement management, and capability development initiatives across the practice.

Your Expertise

• Approximately 8-12+ years' experience in governance, risk, controls assurance, internal audit, advisory, consulting, or related professional services environments.
• Demonstrated experience leading complex client engagements and managing senior stakeholder relationships.
• Strong knowledge of governance, risk management, internal control frameworks, regulatory compliance, and assurance methodologies.
• Experience designing and delivering business process improvement, operational risk, controls transformation, or assurance programmes.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering high-quality outcomes in complex environments.
• Strong commercial acumen and experience contributing to business development, client growth, and practice development initiatives.
• Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to distil complex concepts into clear and practical recommendations.
• A passion for developing people, building inclusive teams, and creating positive client outcomes.

Ideally, You'll Also Have

• Experience working within professional services, consulting, government, financial services, or large corporate environments.
• Exposure to project risk, third-party risk, enterprise risk management, or large-scale transformation programmes.
• Relevant professional qualifications such as CA, CPA, CIA, CISA, CRMA, or equivalent.

Contract Opportunity

This is a Wellington-based contract opportunity for up to six months , with the possibility of extension depending on business requirements and project demand.
