Qualifications

• 3–5 years' recent acute care experience.
• Demonstrated leadership with ability to coach and develop staff.
• Experience in change management, quality improvement, audits and service development.
• Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and improving outcomes for Māori.
• Postgraduate certificate required; ideally pursuing a relevant postgraduate qualification.

About the Role

As the Associate Charge Nurse Manager (ACNM) for Endoscopy, you will work alongside the Charge Nurse Manager to provide clinical and operational leadership within a busy and evolving service. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced senior nurse who is passionate about delivering high quality patient care while supporting and developing staff.

You will play a key role in coordinating daily operations, supporting workforce management, driving quality improvement initiatives, and contributing to the achievement of service goals.

About the Team/Service

The Waikato Endoscopy Service is a busy tertiary service providing diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures to patients from across the Te Manawa Taki region. We perform approximately 30 to 40 endoscopic procedures each day, caring for a mix of elective and acute patients.

Our team consists of 33 staff, including Registered Nurses, Health Care Assistants, and Clinical Nurse Specialists. Staff work collaboratively across all areas of the service, including Pre-Operative, Intra-Operative, and Post-Operative care, ensuring a seamless patient journey and high standard of care.

About you

• Minimum of 3-5 years recent experience in an acute care setting
• Demonstrated leadership capability with highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to support, coach and develop staff
• Experience in change management, quality improvement, clinical audits and service development initiatives
• Strong communication, organisational and problem solving skills
• Demonstrated commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and improving outcomes for Māori and priority populations
• Postgraduate certificate required; ideally you have attained, or are working towards, a relevant postgraduate qualification
• Strong focus on quality improvement, patient safety and achieving equitable health outcomes
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and excellence in patient-centred care
