Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking an Associate Charge Nurse Manager to assist the Charge Nurse Manager in establishing clinical nursing standards and leading a ward/unit focused on safe, patient-centered care. The role includes staff education, risk monitoring, and contributing to quality initiatives within Ward 3 Acute Frailty Unit.

You will roster staff, manage short-staffing crises, and support autonomous practice while coordinating with a multidisciplinary team to promote equity

Qualifications

• Registered nurse with APC and valid NZ practising certificate.
• Postgraduate Certificate encouraged; working toward Postgraduate Diploma.
• Minimum three years post-registration nursing practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and nursing guidance for the ward/unit.
• Collaborate with the Charge Nurse Manager and multidisciplinary team to ensure safe patient care.
• Create monthly rosters and manage safe staffing within the unit.
• Develop, implement and monitor policies, audits, protocols and guidelines.
• Support staff education and maintain PDRP portfolios.
