Job summary

sKids Lower Hutt in New Zealand is seeking energetic Programme Manager and Assistant Programme Manager to lead after-school care and holiday programmes. You will supervise activities, ensure safety and wellbeing, and support day-to-day running from setup to pack-down.

Ideal candidates have childcare or education experience, leadership or supervisory background, and availability from 2:30pm on weekdays. The role offers a collaborative, fun team and opportunities to grow within the sKids family.

Qualifications

• Must have the legal right to work in New Zealand.
• Reliable transport to Boulcott and Newlands sites.
• Availability from 2:30pm on weekdays.
• Experience in childcare, education, coaching, camps, or similar.
• Leadership or supervisory experience for Programme Manager and Assistant Programme Manager roles.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and support a variety of activities including arts & crafts, sports, games, cooking and creative play.
• Supervise and engage with children, ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
• Use positive behaviour guidance to support children with different needs.
• Build strong relationships with parents, caregivers and school staff.
• Support or lead day-to-day running of the programme from setup through to pack-down.
• Guide and support team members to deliver a high-quality programme.

Job Description

We’re recruiting for Programme & Assistant Managers around Lower Hutt, Wellington (sKids Boulcott site).

Working Hours (Monday to Friday)

• Before School Care: 7:00am – 8:30am
• After School Care: 2:30pm – 6:00pm (availability from 2:30pm is essential)
• Additional hours may also be available during our Holiday Programmes (school holidays), for those looking for extra work.

About the Role

No two days are the same at sKids! You’ll be part of a team creating a safe, fun, and engaging space where children can thrive.

• Deliver and support a variety of activities including arts & crafts, sports, games, cooking, and creative play
