Job summary

sKids is seeking an Assistant Programme Manager in Auckland to support morning and afternoon sessions for tamariki. You will help run a well-structured programme, lead sessions in the Programme Manager's absence, and ensure a fun, safe environment for children.

Ideal candidates have leadership experience with groups of children, strong communication skills, and a commitment to positive guidance. This role offers part-time hours with weekday shifts and additional holiday programme opportunities.

Qualifications

• Legal right to work in New Zealand is required.
• Reliable transport to the Woodlands Park site.
• Experience working with groups of children (e.g. OSCAR, childcare, coaching, teaching).
• Comfort stepping into a leadership role when needed and taking initiative.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Programme Manager with day-to-day running of the sKids programme.
• Step in as 2IC to lead sessions when the Programme Manager is away.
• Supervise large groups of tamariki, ensuring a safe, inclusive environment.
• Plan and deliver structured activities including arts, crafts, sports, games, and offsite trips.
• Support with managing challenging behaviour using positive guidance strategies.
• Guide and support Programme Assistants on shift.
• Build positive relationships with parents, caregivers, and school staff.
• Assist with setup, pack-down and preparation of resources for each session.
