We are seeking an Assistant Librarian to support our Librarian and provide assistance with all aspects of the day to day operations in the MGC library | Wharepukapuka. This is a permanent role for 22.5 hours per week, term time only.
We are looking for somebody who loves working with young people. An understanding of secondary school and library environments would be helpful, along with experience working with students with a variety of different needs.
The successful applicant will ideally be an avid reader with a passion for books and knowledge and have strong organisational and interpersonal skills. They will be involved in training and supporting our Student Librarians and liaise with staff across the kura. Competence in using a variety of IT systems and databases is essential.
Some flexibility in when and how hours are worked may be required to meet the needs of our students.
Responsibilities include supporting the Librarian in day-to-day library operations, training and supporting Student Librarians, liaising with staff, and using IT systems and databases. The role requires strong organisational and interpersonal skills and an interest in supporting student learning.
