Job summary

Ara Poutama Aotearoa invites a motivated Registered Nurse to lead our primary health services team at Northland Region Corrections Facility. You will supervise a mix of clinical and non-clinical staff, respond to emergencies, and coordinate care with Doctors and external health services to ensure high-quality primary health for inmates.

Mo te tunga | About the roleWe are looking for a motivated leader to assist in managing our primary health services team at Northland Region Corrections Facility (NRCF). The team consists of both clinical and non-clinical staff and you will thrive working in a complex and challenging environment.You will report to and work closely with the Health Centre Manager. The Health Team deals with a broad range of general and mental health issues, respond to emergencies, consult with external health services and undertake health education for this high health needs population.Working collaboratively with Doctors, Allied Health professionals, external agencies and other Ara Poutama Aotearoa staff you will promote a philosophy of care within the prison which ensures the delivery of quality primary health services to those in our management. Having or working towards graduate papers is desirable.Experience, qualifications, and registration in New Zealand are highly desirable. Preference will be given to candidates who have proven experience working within the New Zealand healthcare system, hold relevant New Zealand qualifications, and are currently registered with the appropriate regulatory bodies.
