Are you an Assistant Accountant looking for your next challenge? Or a part qualified junior auditor looking to make the move to industry now?

An exciting opportunity to join our Commercial Finance team who are respected by the business for adding value, understanding industry drivers and building relationships.

We are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team in Agency (primarily supporting the Wool business unit).

As a permanent, full-time Assistant Accountant based in Christchurch, you will:

  • Provide a range of technical accounting support to assist business performance
  • Prepare accurate financial analysis and reporting for key stakeholders
  • Assist with the monthly and annual accounting processes
  • Support the Finance Business Partner in building financial acumen with Business Leaders.

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • An appropriate tertiary degree or accounting qualification is desirable
  • One to three years practical accounting experience
  • Previous experience and competence in the use of computer systems including Microsoft Office products, ERP systems (e.g. D365, JD Edwards, SAP, etc), and financial management tools (e.g. Oracle EPM)
  • Advanced Excel skills would be an advantage
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate effectively
  • Have a positive, results oriented and focused approach to the tasks and responsibilities associated with the role.

Based in Christchurch, adjacent to the airport, you will enjoy all the benefits of our modern offices including complimentary car-parking. This is a full-time role (40 hours, Monday to Friday), but we're flexible whether you prefer an earlier or later start, and/or a mix of working from home and in the office.
