Position Description

Overview

Airedale Property Trust (APT) is a property investment, management and development trust affiliated with the Methodist Church (MMN) of New Zealand. Together, the Three Trusts (MMN, APT and Lifewise) directly manage a variety of social services, a portfolio of social housing, retirement villages, and retail and residential properties. Finance provides Shared Services across Airedale Property Trust, The Lifewise Trust and Methodist Mission Northern.

You will assist with providing the Trusts with accurate and timely information, which supports the strategic and operational planning process. The successful candidate will have over three years of experience in a similar role, with an eye for detail and the ability to work in a complex and changing environment. Someone with a can-do attitude and willingness to learn. This is a varied role that will allow you to utilise your existing skills whilst providing a new challenge to help you grow.

Your responsibilities
  • General finance administration:
    • Credit card reconciliation and processing
    • Manage procurement, purchase orders (POs), invoicing, and supplier performance
    • Raise purchase orders for the Finance and Property teams
    • General administration tasks and supporting AP/AR/Bank functions where required
  • Fleet management:
    • Primary contact to liaise with external fleet management and internal fleet users
    • Manage insurance of vehicles
    • Manage fleet infringements and on charges
  • Supporting Finance Business Partners:
    • Balance sheet reconciliation and month-end close
    • Assist with preparation of annual budgets
    • Supporting the statutory audit
  • Supporting internal customers and the wider Finance team
  • Supporting the wider team as required on ad hoc work and projects
  • General office administration tasks and supporting AP/AR/Bank functions where required

Skills & Experience
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in accounting or finance
  • Over 3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Microsoft Dynamics Business Central experience is beneficial but not necessary
  • Proficient with MS Office applications; Advanced Excel is desirable
  • General understanding of finance systems and processes
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Organised with the ability to prioritise work and meet challenging deadlines
  • Quality and results-oriented with high attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; able to meet tight deadlines
