Overview

Assistant Accountant – Part‑time, 2days a week (may increase). Pay $40+ per hour. 6‑month role starting ASAP, with full‑time training required.

Responsibilities

• Handle end‑to‑end Accounts Payable, including invoice processing, 3‑way matching and bank reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate financial records through double‑entry accounting and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support month‑end processes, including journals and accruals.
• Assist with broader transactional finance tasks when required.
• Prepare supplier payment runs, reconcile AP to supplier statements and respond to supplier queries promptly.
• Investigate and resolve AP and bank discrepancies, including coding sundry bank transactions.

Qualifications

• Experienced in Accounts Payable and transactional accounting.
• Proficient in double‑entry accounting, reconciliations, and month‑end processes.
• Comfortable managing invoice validation, supplier communication, and payment scheduling.
• Strong attention to detail with a process‑driven, deadline‑focused approach.
• Advanced MS Excel user (XLOOKUP and VLOOKUP).
• Experience with ERP systems; Business Central knowledge is a plus.
• Based in Auckland with full working rights. Applicants on a student visa limited to 20hours per week will not be considered.
• Must be able to commit to the full 6‑month duration.
