Job summary

New Zealand Police is seeking an Assets Advisor to join the Strategy and Finance team, focusing on building a national road policing asset lifecycle approach and supporting frontline asset needs. This permanent full-time role reports to the Senior Advisor: Finance and Assets and involves asset planning, utilization, maintenance, and supplier management.

Qualifications

Experience in asset management, finance, investment planning, procurement, logistics, or a related field.
Ability to analyse data to identify trends, risks, opportunities and future investment requirements.
Strong relationship management skills, with the ability to work effectively across a range of operational and corporate stakeholders.
Experience establishing or improving processes, systems, or ways of working.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and influence decision-making.
Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver quality outcomes in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

Support the development and implementation of a national road policing asset lifecycle programme.
Monitor asset performance, utilisation, maintenance, and replacement requirements across the road policing asset portfolio.
Contribute to asset investment planning, forecasting, business cases, and reporting to support evidence-based decision making.
Coordinate asset maintenance, repairs, contracts, and supplier relationships to maximise asset availability and value.
