The Asset Modelling team, within Strategy, Performance and Risk, delivers impact by collaborating with our Data and Analytics specialists within ICT to enable future-focused asset management excellence.
Meaningful work you can be proud of leading the team to deliver!
Due to internal promotion, in Wellington or Christchurch you will lead a team of six in a high-impact role combining leadership, asset management, and data analysis & modelling. You will drive the evolution of asset health and network risk models while maintaining frameworks that inform investment decisions and funding submissions. While risk understanding is important, the key is enabling evidence-based decisions through strategic insights and robust modelling.
You will collaborate across the Grid business and with the IT Data and Analytics team to scope and deliver analytics that strengthen asset health models and network risk insights. You will lead the implementation of scalable modelling platforms that support coding processes and data handling, ensuring consistency and efficiency. Asset Planning is the internal customer who depends on the team’s outputs to make robust, evidence-based funding and investment decisions. You will play a central role in enabling risk-based decision-making, mentoring others in the use of decision-support tools and guiding interpretation of asset data to maximise value for over $5 billion of critical infrastructure that powers Aotearoa.
You will enjoy building capability in others and managing a full work programme, applying your understanding of how data analytics and modelling inform asset management and asset health and risk decision-making. Known for outstanding analytical, communication, and influencing skills, your expertise will be underpinned by a relevant tertiary qualification and ideally experience in asset modelling to support asset planning decisions.
