Job summary

Orion Group is undergoing a data governance transformation for asset information. The Asset Data Governance Lead will define standards, ownership and quality, enabling trustworthy data across planning, design, operations and reporting.

Qualifications

  • Experienced in enterprise data and information governance within complex environments.
  • Strong across data ownership, stewardship, quality and assurance.
  • Able to bridge technical detail and business needs.
  • Be pragmatic; governance embedded in work, not just in documents.
  • Comfortable influencing across teams without positional authority.
  • Naturally curious with an improvement orientation and interest in emerging technology.
  • Excited by potential of automation and AI to simplify asset information.

Responsibilities

  • Define and embed asset data standards, definitions, hierarchies and quality expectations.
  • Establish clear ownership, stewardship, decision rights and accountability for asset data.
  • Develop data catalogues, dictionaries, classification frameworks and lineage.
  • Create meaningful data quality measures and drive improvement at the root cause.
  • Govern data flows, integrations and attribute mappings across key systems.
  • Build assurance that supports auditability, regulatory reporting and external disclosures.
  • Help ensure data foundations are ready for analytics, automation, AI and future digital capability.

Job description

Orion is in the middle of a significant transformation in how asset information is captured, managed and used across the business. At the heart of that transformation is data, this newly created role has the opportunity to shape the standards, ownership and quality expectations that will make that data trusted and valuable throughout its lifecycle.

As our Asset Data Governance Lead, you'll define what good looks like and help make it stick. You'll bring clarity and consistency to how asset data is understood, owned, governed and assured, creating a strong foundation that supports everything from planning and design through to operations, reporting and investment decisions.

About you

You'll also be someone who can move comfortably between technical specialists and the wider business. There are no direct reports here, so influence matters. You'll be able to challenge thinking, create clarity where there is ambiguity and bring people together around consistent ways of working.

We're looking for someone who brings:
