Job description

We are seeking to appoint a result driven, technically competent sales professional to join our Christchurch sales team in the role of Area Sales Manager to service growth in Christchurch and outside regions. Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager the role is responsible for maintaining existing direct & distribution customer relationships whilst developing new business opportunities with potential customers across various industry sectors such as red meat, OEM, food and beverage, pulp & paper, building products, water resources, automotive, general manufacturing & engineering.

ABOUT YOU
  • Tertiary qualifications in engineering highly regarded or relevant experience & technical aptitude/skills in either Mechanical, Electrical or Instrumentation
  • 3-5 years minimum technical sales experience essential with proven experience in managing a designated sales territory with significant budget accountability and proven consistent track record
  • Solid organizational and planning skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Sound problem solver and reasoning skills with solution selling capability
  • Possess exceptional rapport building and relationship building skills
  • CRM software package experience and administrative discipline
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience using MS Office suite of programs
  • Possess a safety mindset to successfully operate within and promote a safe working environment
  • Hold a current NZ driver license
