Job summary

Suzanne Turley Landscapes is an established Auckland practice known for carefully considered residential gardens, integrating architecture, interiors, landscape and planting with a focus on detail and enduring outcomes.

Applications close Friday 9 October 2026. We are seeking an experienced landscape architect to develop design concepts and deliver detailed construction documentation for high-end residential projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in architecture or landscape architecture with 5–10 years post-qualification experience.
• Strong design judgement with an interest in high-end residential work.
• Proficiency in a Mac-based studio workflow with keyboard-driven processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine landscape design concepts.
• Prepare coordinated design development and construction documentation.
• Produce technical drawings, details and 3D models.
• Work through levels, structures, pools, drainage, hardscape and material interfaces.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, suppliers and contractors.
• Respond to site queries and help resolve construction issues.

The role

• Develop and refine landscape design concepts
• Prepare coordinated design development and construction documentation
• Produce technical drawings, details and 3D models
• Work through levels, structures, pools, drainage, hardscape and material interfaces
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, suppliers and contractors
• Respond to site queries and help resolve construction issues

About you

• Background in architecture or landscape architecture, with 5-10 years' post-qualification experience, and NZ work rights
• Strong design judgement, with an interest in high-end residential work
• Fast, efficient AutoCAD, SketchUp and Enscape skills, with a keyboard-driven workflow (studio is Mac-based)
• Sound technical detailing and documentation skills
• Practical understanding of materials, buildability and site delivery
• Organised, reliable, and comfortable managing several projects at once

Experience with complex residential projects, planting design, or contractor coordination is an advantage.
