Job summary

Scott Technology Christchurch is offering an apprenticeship in Fitting and Machining. The program welcomes Y12 or Y13 students with a strong foundation in workshop/hard materials and a genuine interest in mechanical engineering.

Ideal candidates demonstrate foundational knowledge of engineering measuring tools and a solid grasp of workshop safety, plus the ability to read basic technical drawings and contribute in a team setting.

Qualifications

• Pre-trade candidate welcome; Y12 or Y13 students with strong workshop/hard materials foundation encouraged.
• Keen interest in mechanical engineering and desire to pursue this trade.
• Good work ethic, consistency, reliability and enthusiastic learner.

Responsibilities

• Learn and assist in fitting and machining tasks.
• Assist with reading generic technical drawings and follow workshop safety rules.
• Contribute to a collaborative team environment.
