Job summary

Alignerr is seeking a PhD-level Applied Physicist to shape how AI understands the physical world. This fully remote hourly contract targets researchers who will create PhD-level physics problems and evaluate model outputs on fundamental principles across quantum mechanics, electromagnetism, and thermodynamics.

You will author gold-standard solutions, audit AI reasoning for physics consistency, and provide detailed feedback to improve AI models.

Qualifications

• PhD completed or near completion in Applied Physics or closely related field.
• Ability to explain complex physics clearly in English.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and asynchronously.
• Experience with rigorous analytical thinking and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Design advanced physics problems at PhD level across QM, EM, and thermodynamics.
• Author rigorous step-by-step solutions with correct units and logical proofs.
• Audit AI-generated physics for conservation laws and physical consistency.
• Provide structured feedback to improve physics-informed AI reasoning.
