Position Title: Anaesthetic Technician

Location: Gisborne Hospital, Tairāwhiti Region, New Zealand

Salary Range: NZD $77,087 – $116,390 (£33,769 – £50,986 GBP)

Role Description

As an Anaesthetic Technician at Gisborne Hospital, you will join a small but committed team providing essential support across surgical and acute care services. You will work closely with anaesthetists, surgeons, nurses, and other health professionals in a dynamic and varied rural hospital environment.

Our hospital services include:

  • 3 Main Theatres
  • 1 Procedure Room
  • PACU (Post Anaesthesia Care Unit)
  • Day of Surgery Unit

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting acute and elective theatre lists
  • Responding to ED trauma calls
  • Providing anaesthetic support in ICU and Radiology
  • Contributing to the training and development of Anaesthetic Technician trainees

This role offers professional variety and the chance to work across multiple departments, providing exposure not always available in larger centers.

Essential Requirements
  • Qualified anaesthetic technician with a current NZ practising certificate
  • Registered with the NZ Medical Sciences Council
  • Eligible to work in New Zealand (resident or work visa holder)
Desirable
  • Minimum 2 years’ post-graduate experience
  • Registered with NZSATS
  • Recent experience within the New Zealand Health Sector
