Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Whangarei Hospital is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist with Cytology experience to join the Anatomical Pathology team. The role focuses on non-gynaecological cytology and supports histology workflows.

You will perform specimen prep, adequacy assessment, screening, and histology duties such as receipt, processing, embedding, microtomy, and staining in a modern facility in Whangārei with a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• NZ Registered Medical Laboratory Scientist with APC current.
• Experience in cytology screening and histology tasks desirable.
• Aptitude for learning Histology-related tasks in a supported environment.

Responsibilities

• Screening and adequacy assessment for non-gynaecological cytology.
• Specimen preparation, receipt, processing, embedding, microtomy, staining.
• Support and develop cytology and histology capabilities within the team.
