Job summary

Mercy Hospital Dunedin invites applications for an Anaesthetic Technician/ODP to join our theatre team in Dunedin, New Zealand. You will provide clinical and technical assistance to Anaesthetists and contribute to safe administration of anaesthesia across a range of procedures.

The role is permanent, full-time (1 FTE, 40 hours per week) on a Monday to Saturday roster with four 10-hour shifts. Vaccination history is required for employment consideration.

Qualifications

• Hold registration with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand and a current Annual Practicing Certificate.
• Demonstrate sound professional judgement and a culturally safe practice.
• Confident to build working relationships and work independently or in a multidisciplinary team.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Enthusiasm and a proactive, flexible attitude.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional, technical and clinical assistance to Anaesthetists.
• Provide safe administration of anaesthesia to patients.
• Anticipate problems and exceptional patient care.
• Co-ordinate documentation to ensure the patient receives effective care.
• Participation in quality improvement processes and activities.
