Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora's Nelson Hospital seeks a Registered Anaesthetic Technician to join the perioperative team. You will assist anaesthetists, monitor patients, and help maintain anaesthetic equipment in a modern theatre, supporting a diverse caseload.

This fixed-term, part-time role (12 months) is 0.7 FTE across a rotating roster, with evenings, weekends and on-call shifts. Applicants must hold APC with MSCNZ or be eligible, and bring strong teamwork and attention to patient care.

About the Role

About you

To be considered for this position you must:

• Be a Registered Anaesthetic Technician or aRNAA, with a current APC issued by The Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand(MSCNZ) or be eligible for the same
• Have relevant experience in an anaesthetic orperioperative setting is preferred
• Have strong attention to detail, effectivecommunication, and team collaboration skills
• Be ability to work flexible hours to meet theneeds of the department and cope with a high and varied workload, includingemergency situations

The successful candidate must be eligible to work in NewZealand or hold a valid NZ work visa at the time of applying.
